When I'm not in school, I love learning new languages, trying different kinds of food, traveling, hanging out with my family and friends, and taking care of my adorable bunnies, Pepper and McFlurry. I'm super passionate about becoming a Pulmonologist so that I can help those with respiratory issues have a better quality life with fewer medical obstacles. I've worked as a medical assistant intern and an ophthalmic technician, and I'm always looking to learn more in the medical field. I found such a friendly and supportive community in MAPS, and I'm sure you will too! I’m happy you’re here, and hope MAPS can become another pillar of support for you.

I immigrated from South Korea and have lived in Orlando ever since! My experience with the healthcare system in both Korea and the USA is one of the many factors that inspired me to become a physician. Although I am a pre-med student, I am heavily involved in chemistry. I worked on biochemistry research in the past and will work on synthetic organic chemistry in the upcoming semester! I love chemistry and find the field fascinating as it facilitates the discovery of cures and medicines. In the future, I hope to combine my interest in medicine and chemistry as a physician-scientist. At UCF, I participate in multiple activities. I volunteer at KHKP, serve as a teaching assistant for general Microbiology class (one of my all-time favorite courses!), participate in the SURC, and teach Korean language at Korean Culture club. Outside of school, I listen to a bunch of K-pop songs (go Stray Kids and TXT!) and watch Korean shows. I am super excited for MAPS this year and hope to help everyone to do their best 😊

Outside of school, I greatly enjoy hanging out with my friends and pursuing more creative endeavors such as crocheting and dancing. I’ve recently picked up crocheting as a way to better my hand skills, essential for my goal of becoming a dentist. I used to be very indecisive of what field in healthcare I wanted to go into, but through MAPS I was able to explore all fields and meet all types of people that allowed me to find out what I really want to do! MAPS has given me great experiences and I hope we can impart those experiences to you!

Jordan McIntyre

Major/Minor: Biomedical Sciences/Music

Hey! I’m Jordan, and I am honored to be serving as your MAPS Secretary this year! When I’m not shadowing or doing school work, I’m all about playing my violin, exploring diverse cultures (mainly their food) and nature, as well as connecting with new people. Whether it’s working on new melodies or mastering a concept in chemistry, I have always been fueled by a curiosity and passion for embracing life’s variety. I can’t wait to welcome you into our MAPS family and create unforgettable memories during our time at UCF. If you have any questions about different specialties, music, or anything really feel free to reach out. You can often spot me at BHC or the Library. Let’s embark on this exciting journey that is Pre-Health together! :)

Major: Biomedical Sciences

The great role models in my life combined with my love for science have made me passionate about becoming a physician. Even though I’m not too set on a specialty yet, minoring in psychology has definitely piqued my interest in psychiatry, but I am still open to anything! When I’m not in class or volunteering, you can find me spending time with my family, hanging out with friends, playing the ukulele, or reading. My favorite genres are fantasy and contemporary fiction, and I have too many favorite books to count. If you ever want to talk about books, MAPS, or anything really, please don’t be afraid to reach out! I hope MAPS is able to support each of you in your pre-health journey, and I am excited to serve as your treasurer!

Having a well balanced social & academic life is super important for me! While I’m not studying or volunteering, I love hanging out with my friends and family, trying new restaurants, & traveling! Back home in south Florida I enjoy taking part in water sport activities such as snorkeling & kayaking! My future career goal is to graduate from medical school & specialize in pediatrics where I can change the perspective of going to the doctors from scary, to fun & watch my patients as they grow from infants into young adults. MAPS has given me unlimited opportunities to grow and make new connections! I hope you find your place in our MAPS family this year & come out to all our events! Can’t wait to see you there!!
